THE COACH
Hello, I'm Neil.
Former Royal Marine Commando, advanced fitness coach, yoga teacher and Oxygen Advantage instructor, now here in the Cotswolds.
Where it started
I started out in the Royal Marines, and that’s where I learned about discipline. Not the shouting kind. The quiet, everyday kind: small habits you keep up because they make you feel better, not because someone is telling you to.
Those years taught me a lot about what the body can do. Above all, they showed me that people change through structure, consistency and routine far more than through pep talks. A simple plan you can stick to on a tired Tuesday is worth more than any amount of motivation.
After that, a new chapter began.
The chapters between
After the Marines, I travelled for a while. Then I qualified as a coach in London in 2007 and joined Nuffield Health, where I spent years as a one-to-one fitness coach, working with busy, stressed people from every walk of life and at every level of fitness. That’s where I learned my craft. I took every course I could, learned from the people I coached, and built the foundations of how I work today.
Then I moved to Ibiza, where I spent years coaching one to one at high-end private villas and running private coaching retreats. I worked with a huge range of people, including celebrities, and many of them came to me tired and overworked. We’d work through everything together: hikes, training, breathwork, yoga, mobility, mindset, nutrition. The whole picture, one person at a time. The COMMAND framework grew out of those years. It’s simply how I’ve been coaching for twenty years, written down.
Learning in India
I’d been coaching for well over a decade by the time I travelled to India – and I’d always trained the way I do now: movement, mobility, breath and mindset alongside the strength and conditioning. India didn’t change my approach, but it deepened it.
I spent five weeks training as a yoga teacher, taught in a traditional way by people who’d spent their lives studying breath, movement and stillness. It was a humbling experience, and it gave me a much deeper understanding of the breathing and stillness that had always been part of my coaching.
By then I was already running private one-to-one retreats, taking people who were stressed and worn out on hikes, and through training, breathwork, yoga, mobility, mindset and nutrition. India was one chapter in a long story, not the moment everything began.
Where I’ve worked
Ibiza
For over a decade, I coached people one to one at high-end private villas in Ibiza, from every walk of life to well-known faces. Many of them were tired and overworked, and wanted some help to feel like themselves again. We took it gently, often outdoors, and the results came steadily.
Oxygen Advantage
I'm a qualified Oxygen Advantage instructor. Oxygen Advantage is a well-respected method for better everyday breathing, and it gave me the science behind techniques I'd used for years. Small changes to how you breathe can make a real difference to your energy, sleep and calm.
The Cotswolds
I've now brought my coaching home to the Cotswolds. It's a quieter, more private place to work, and I give every client the same care and attention I always have. I'd love to help you too.
“I like to look at the whole person, not just the workout. Sleep, breath, mindset, movement, nutrition and everyday life all play a part, so we work on them together.”
